These pockets of revival services breaking out in Kentucky, Ohio and other states are incredible! I have seen so many people on social media who are shocked by what’s happening and in awe over it. I have actually seen and heard people who are wanting to get to one of these spots from all over.

This is blowing my mind. Do you know why? Many of the people who are celebrating and boasting about making an incredible drive to one of these locations, are:
– those who tune out the worship band when they start to play a song that they don’t like;
– ones who take a bathroom break during the slow songs because they’re “just not as fun as the fast songs”;
– so hung up on what we think worship should look and feel like that we miss the Lord completely in our worship gatherings at our local churches;
– consumed by all the trappings of life. We can’t make it out to church once or twice a month, because our kids are in sports, or it’s our only day to get things done around the house, or sleep in.

Make no mistake, I’m not here to divide the Church. Go, visit one of these locations if you want, and can.

But, the truth is, that if God’s presence showed up in our local churches, all over the states, we would find a reason to sit down, an excuse to go home, and eventually not go back altogether.

Worship Him like you really mean it at home and see if He will not answer you from Heaven and show up in your home. And the next time you’re at church, surrender it all; lift your hands up-as an active sign of surrendering-a sign of receiving, and see if God’s presence doesn’t come and change you. Because that’s revival—when God changes each and every one of us-when our spirit is revived, made alive, for so much more than what we’re living for now. That’s revival.

My friends and I went to Brownsville revival back in the 90’s. Many of us aren’t nearly as passionate as we were then. Some aren’t even serving Jesus anymore.

He wants your heart-your whole heart, forevermore. That’s revival.

Revival isn’t about the gatherings; it’s about the surrendering. It’s not about where you go, but it’s about what you are willing to lay down at the feet of Jesus. It’s about loving people. It’s about forgiving those who wronged you. It’s about waking up to a brand new way of living.

I know you think you WANT it; but the truth is, that type of the move of the Spirit is too costly.

What you’re seeking—revival, it will cost you everything.
